Ingrown toenail surgery?

I've had an ingrown toenail for a while now and I keep treating it with home remedies but it keeps coming back. I want to know at what point should I consider returning to the doctors (where i suspect they will remove it) and if they do, how long will i be off my feet for if at all? Thank you.Ingrown toenail surgery?
They will only remove the part that is in growing, so you will keep the majority of your toenail. You won鈥檛 be off your feet, you鈥檒l be able to walk etc鈥?it鈥檚 just painful for the first week or so鈥? Obviously if you play a sport which involves kicking something it will hurt. Other than that you sould be fine...Ingrown toenail surgery?
my son had his first toenail surgery at 13 months.........he is now almost 17 in june and has several operations on each of his big toenails.......no matter what they seem to do or even a different thing the toenails grow back........my son is fedup and feel let down terribly by the health system......so when he is 18 and moved away maybe the different doc or podiatrist there will do a better job.........

good luck..........liz
You will be off your feet for several days. You need to go to a podiatrist, not a family doctor. The podiatrist will put something on the root of the nail so the side will never grow back in again. A family doctor will only cut it out and it may grow back worse than before.
no one can answer that but your doctor .......
