Is it ingrown toenail?

I cut my toenails with clippers and I used a metal pusher at the side then after that i felt a little pain so i thought something was stuck so i tried digging it more until it was wounded. After that i thought i successfully get that thing stuck but when I slept it was uncomfortable and the next morning it was red and swollen.

What could it be? Is it because of the wound or is it an ingrown toenail? but it was just last night so how come the nail could dig in so fast? Please help...Is it ingrown toenail?
It might be that the wound you have created has become infected. I assume the metal pusher that you used was not sterile, so could have had all sorts of bacteria and germs on it. Feet are great for growing fungal and bacterial infections as they are damp and warm - and ideal place for infections to thrive! So, it might not necessarily be the nail that has ingrown, but more that the wound there is infected. Keep the area clean and dry as possible, perhaps use an antiseptic spray and some pain killers. If it persists, or starts to leak pus you may need to see the doctor for antibiotics. Next time, be more careful when cutting your nails - just cut straight across the nail and no digging down the sides!!!
