ok, in runs in my family to have ingrown toenails quite often and its getting annoying. ive had all my toes ingrown by now and ive even had to get part of one of my toenails cut off. What can i do to prevent this?Recurring ingrown toenail?
Proper nail cutting should prevent it. But once you got it, you'll need a simple surgical procedure involving excision of the edge of the nail and the adjacent skin right down to the base and suturing. The biggest reason a person get's ingrown toenails is because they cut their toenails wrong.
Instead of cutting your toenail in a U shape (with the edges curved) you want to cut your toenails as flat as possible to avoid the edge of your toenail from growing into your skin. Good luck!
you need to cut them, straight across. and not in a U, that is what causes it.
