you should be fine to walk on it. you should be soaking it in warm soapy water twice a day and using either iodine or neosporin on it. cover it with a bandaid during the day and let it airdry at night. it'll be tender for a while but nothing major. at my office we have the patient come back in a week and if there's any crusty stuff in the border they'll clean it out.
