I had to cut my toenail very short, from hitting on something...?

do you think that i will get an ingrown toenail as it grows back?

i ususally am very careful about how i clip my toe nails, becuase i have had ingrown toenails before and they really hurt.I had to cut my toenail very short, from hitting on something...?
To prevent this from happening, soak your feet in warm water. As the nail soften use a q-tip and gently lift the nails edges up at the corners and the sides. These were the exact instructions my son't podiatrist gave us when he had his toenails surgically removed because they were so ingrown.I had to cut my toenail very short, from hitting on something...?
mhm, it depends on how you cut it back. it does can happen: when cutting it the wrong way on the outside. the nail then grows into the tissue and may cause infections. just watch it carefully and when suspecting an ingrown toenail go and see a specialist as soon as possible. dont walk around with it if you feel its bothering you, cause it then wont go away by itself.

but it does not have to apply in your case.

good luck
should be fine my daughters one nail is almost gone everytime went we cut it and she never gets an ingrowen nail
I lost a nail in a similar way. I had regular pedicures so it would grow back normally.
If you are prone to them then it probably will. I have clipped mine too short many times and I never get ingrown toe nails. Not to say that I have never had one because I have and they hurt like a sonofabitch!
i was a naill tech......just keep filing it with a semi-soft file (not metal) straight across too keep it growing in correctly....also file the sides lightly straight ';up';, not angled in....should be fine.
