You have a choice, see a Dr or treat it yourself. Whatever you do do not cut any of the nail. I have been able to coax the nail out of the skin. It was rather painful. It did keep coming back and I eventually saw a Podiatrist and he had to cut away almost half the nail. If it is bad or you want it taken care of for good see a Dr soon. If you leave it the toe will become more and more painful.How long will my ingrown toenail last?
As long as you want it to last. It doesn't cure itself. Get it treated!!
