Toenail hurts to walk?

i have had an ingrown toenail when i was little and the doc had to cut it out. but i always get these sore big toenails that feel infected but then i just put neosporin on it and its fine. But i have had this toenail problem since the other day, and the cream does nothing for it. my fear was another ingrown toenail, but the front tip/corner of the nail is not growing into the skin (isn't that the only part that grows into it?) and my toe really hurts i can barely walk on it. if its not ingrown how can it be infected/sore? also, what should i do? thanksToenail hurts to walk?
you probably have another ingrown toenail... they often come back after having just one

ask your foot doctor about getting a procedure done where he puts acid in the sides of you toe to prevent the sides from ever growing back.

that way, you won't ever have any more pain or ingrowns.

See a podiatrist. They are a specialist on foot problems. He can teach you how to cut your nails to prevent ingrown nails. You may have an infection or fungus. Either way, he can treat it. Don't delay, if it's not getting any better you need to have it looked at now.
