My brother had that on his toenail and his normal doctor suggested him to go see a dermatologist. They deal with nails, hair, and skin and they are trained experts on fungus related topics.
Podiatry is most to do with foot pain and injuries. What department of the hospital would i go to ask about toenail fungus?
I hope you don't go to my department. EWWWW!!
I don't work at Kaiser though, so no worries.
And the answer is podiatry. What department of the hospital would i go to ask about toenail fungus?
check out WebMD first
You need to see the podiatrist. No need to go to the hospital, any podiatrist who accepts your insurance would do.
I'd first go to my regular family doctor.
Many insurance plans won't pay for a specialist unless you are referred by you primary care provider. Specialist are usually more expensive, and have higher copay.
And your primary care doctor may be able to prescribe exactly what you need.
Podiatry
