I would think it depends on the severity of the wound. Her nail was probably at least somewhat curved to be able to puncture the toe, I would think... Not that it matters.
The nail does need to be removed from the wound, and it should be washed well and covered. Infection is the biggest risk. it is not very dangerous, but you should visit a doctor cause the nail needs to be taken off. it麓s more a traumatic toenail than an ingrown one.
